Privacy Policy

LingoStash helps you translate, save, and practice vocabulary. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and what choices you have.

Information We Collect

Account Information

If you sign in with Google or Apple, LingoStash may receive basic account information such as your name, email address, profile photo URL, and account identifier. This is used to create your profile and sync your vocabulary across devices.

You can also use LingoStash locally without creating an account.

Vocabulary and Learning Data

When you save words or phrases, LingoStash stores vocabulary data such as:

• source text and translated text
• selected meanings
• language pair
• word type information
• review status and practice progress
• conjugation practice progress when available

If you are signed in, this data may be synced using Firebase Firestore. If you continue locally, this data stays on your device unless you later sign in and choose to sync.

Translation and Dictionary Requests

When you translate text, the text you enter may be sent to the selected translation provider, such as Google Cloud Translation or Apple Translation, to return a translation.

When dictionary details are available, LingoStash may request dictionary data from Kaikki/Wiktionary-based sources.

These services process the submitted text to provide the requested translation or dictionary result.

Analytics

LingoStash uses Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used and improve the product. Analytics events may include information such as:

• screens viewed
• translation, saving, practice, and conjugation actions
• language pair
• counts, status values, and error categories

LingoStash does not intentionally send your typed text, saved words, translations, email address, display name, or raw user ID in analytics events.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

• provide translation and vocabulary-saving features
• organize your saved words
• support practice and conjugation review
• sync your data across devices if you sign in
• maintain and improve the app
• understand feature usage and diagnose issues

Third-Party Services

LingoStash may use the following third-party services:

• Firebase Authentication
• Firebase Firestore
• Firebase Analytics
• Google Sign-In
• Sign in with Apple
• Google Cloud Translation
• Apple Translation
• Kaikki/Wiktionary dictionary data sources

These services may process information according to their own privacy policies.

Data Sharing

LingoStash does not sell your personal information.

We do not use your data for advertising tracking. We do not share your data with data brokers.

Data may be shared with third-party service providers only as needed to operate app features, such as authentication, cloud sync, analytics, translation, and dictionary lookup.

Local Mode

You can use LingoStash without signing in by choosing local mode. In local mode, your profile and vocabulary data are stored on your device. Cloud sync is not used unless you later sign in.

Data Retention

Local data remains on your device until you delete the app or remove the data.

Synced account data is retained while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can delete your account from the Profile tab in the app. Account deletion removes your profile, saved vocabulary, practice progress, and synced account data.

Children’s Privacy

LingoStash is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your Choices

You can:

• use the app locally without signing in
• sign out at any time
• delete local app data by deleting the app from your device
• delete your account and synced account data from the Profile tab
